The Story of POWER Inc.
In 2022, P.O.W.E.R. Inc. was created and inspired by the extraordinary journey of Kasen Kyrie, affectionately known as 'The Miracle Baby' on a global scale. Kasen's narrative commenced in January 2020, as he entered the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) due to jaundice and respiratory complications. What began with hope for a healthy life took an unexpected turn two months later when Kasen was diagnosed with Biliary Atresia, leading to a crucial need for a liver transplant following a failed Kasai procedure in March 2020.
Mitayah Donerlson, the founder of P.O.W.E.R. Inc. and a mother of two boys, found herself thrust into a life-altering challenge. Kasen's health struggles resulted in extended hospitalizations, causing a significant separation from her other child, Cameron. This unpleasant journey fueled Mitayah's transformation into an advocate, dedicating herself to forging connections, raising awareness about parental rights and responsibilities, and advocating for improvements in the healthcare system.
Navigating the unfamiliar environment of chronic hospitalization at Golisano Children's Hospital, Mitayah encountered numerous challenges. Rather than succumbing to the difficulties, she used her time to keenly observe, learn, and later articulate the pressing need for enhanced social and wellness engagement for parents, compassionate bedside manners to instill a sense of security, and transparent communication with options concerning their child's services.
Mitayah expressed gratitude to her support team, acknowledging the invaluable contribution of Tameka Mosher, RN, whom she described as an "Angel Sent by God." She also extended her appreciation to Kinney's Pharmacy, generous donors, and everyone who uplifted them in prayers. Their genuine support played a pivotal role in navigating the challenging journey.

Mitayah's journey, encompassing the spectrum from the initial diagnosis to grappling with insurance coverage challenges, enduring unpleasant interactions with medical professionals, relocating to an unfamiliar state for the crucial liver transplant, and confronting mental, emotional, and financial hardships, symbolized a storm of challenges. Yet, emerging from this storm, she bore a commitment to support and empower others. P.O.W.E.R. Inc. was conceived from this commitment—a testament to resilience, self-care, and trust in a higher power. It stands as a beacon of hope and support for individuals navigating their own robust paths, ensuring that no one has to face these challenges alone.
